Precautions before and after IV Therapy & Injectable Wellness Treatment
Pre-Treatment Guidelines for IV Infusion
● Inform your provider of allergies (medications, tape, disinfectants), current medications, and chronic conditions (e.g., heart or kidney disease).
● Eat a light meal 1–2 hours before treatment and drink water to prevent dizziness and help veins fill.
● Wear loose sleeves that can be easily rolled up for IV or injection access.
Post-Treatment Guidelines for IV Infusion
● Apply firm pressure with a sterile cotton ball for 2–5 minutes after needle removal (longer if taking blood thinners). Do not rub the area to avoid bruising.
● Keep the dressing (bandage) on for at least 30–60 minutes. Avoid soaking the area in baths, hot tubs, or swimming pools for 24 hours to reduce infection risk.
● Drink approximately 500 ml of water after treatment to help the body absorb nutrients and eliminate metabolic waste.
● Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive alcohol, or high caffeine intake for 24 hours, as these may reduce the benefits of hydration and nutrient absorption.
● Small bruises may appear; you can apply a warm compress after 24 hours. If there is redness, swelling, or pain, a cold compress can help during the
initial period.
