Biostimulatory Injections

Sculptra® is an FDA-approved biostimulatory injectable that stimulates collagen production to gradually restore facial volume and structure. After injection, it creates a collagen-supporting scaffold that stimulates natural collagen production. As the product is absorbed, new collagen remains, leading to firmer skin and improved facial contours.

Common uses include:
● Flattened or sagging cheeks
● Mid-face and cheek hollowing
● Temple hollowing
● Nasolabial folds and marionette lines
● Jawline and lower face volume loss

Precautions before and after Biostimulatory Injections
Pre-Treatment Guidelines
7 days before treatment: Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, alcohol, and smoking to minimize bruising risk.
On the day of treatment: Keep skin clean and avoid heavy makeup.
Before treatment: Inform your provider if you have autoimmune disorders, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have recently received hyaluronic acid or
neurotoxin injections, or have any active skin infection or inflammation.
Post-Treatment Guidelines
Immediately after treatment: Follow the “Golden 5-5-5 Massage” rule — gently massage the treated area 5 times a day for 5 minutes each, for 5
consecutive days to ensure even distribution and reduce the risk of nodules.
Within 48 hours: Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, alcohol, and pressing the treated areas.
Within 1 week: Refrain from facial devices or procedures such as RF, HIFU, lasers, and deep facial massage.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is it different from hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers?
HA fillers provide immediate volume by filling the area. This collagen-stimulating treatment works by rebuilding your body’s natural collagen scaffold, gradually restoring structure and firmness.
How soon will I see results?
Initial improvement is usually noticeable in 4–6 weeks, with more visible results at 3 months and peak results around 6 months.
How long do the results last?
Results can last 2–5 years, among the longest for injectable treatments.
Will it cause swelling or an artificial look?
No “overfilled” or exaggerated appearance. Mild swelling may occur at first, but it typically resolves within a few days, leaving a natural, youthful result.
How many sessions are needed?
Typically 2–3 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, to complete a full collagen regeneration cycle.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It can be combined with Botox, HA fillers, microneedling, and RF-based therapies, making it a key part of advanced anti-aging protocols. Patients should work with their provider to plan a personalized treatment schedule.
